WSU announces spring commencement schedule, speakers

 

More than 2,400 students are eligible to participate in the 121st spring commencement ceremonies Saturday, May 18, at Wichita State University. Ceremonies will be held in Charles Koch Arena. Undergraduate and graduate degrees will be conferred in college ceremonies.

The public should be advised that security will be in place and plan additional time for screening by metal detector to enter the arena. Doors will open at 7 a.m. and remain open throughout the day.

Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences; College of Fine Arts; Institute of Interdisciplinary Innovation; Dorothy and Bill Cohen Honors College

More than 810 students are eligible to participate in commencement exercises at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 18. Helen Van Etten will represent the Kansas Board of Regents. The commencement speaker will be Angela Parrish, singer, songwriter and composer.

College of Applied Studies; College of Health Professions

About 765 students are eligible to participate in commencement exercises at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 18. Helen Van Etten will represent the Kansas Board of Regents. The commencement speaker will be Alicia Thompson, superintendent of Wichita Public Schools.

College of Engineering; W. Frank Barton School of Business

Almost 820 students are eligible to graduate in a ceremony at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 18. Helen Van Etten will represent the Kansas Board of Regents. The commencement speaker will be Leanne Caret, executive vice president of The Boeing Co. and president and chief executive officer of Defense, Space & Security.
